THE TOSCAR AWARDS

THE TOSCAR AWARDS

Okay, so you're probably thinking, "Annie had a typo and she got to report ON THE RED CARPET at the Oscars?! I mean..she's doing all this other super cool stuff with NBC..I'd believe it."

I mean, I wish that happened, but it didn't happen. Maybe next year?

The Toscars is an award show parody, put on by Brits in LA, where Brits come together to create 5 minute spin off on the top 10 nominated movies of the year.

This year, the titles included:
'Zamour', 'Link-In', 'Life on P1', 'Breasts of the Southland Wild', 'Stargo', 'Silver Whinings Payback', 'Half Past Twelve (At Night)' and 'Djangle (Unleashed)', 'Skyfell (And I Can't Get Up)' and 'Miserable Lesbians'

Here is my video highlighting the red carpet event!!

HARLEM GLOBETROTTERS--What Up!!

NBC4's reporter Sean Murphy is so much fun!

He had a liveshot, where he was promoting the Harlem Globetrotters, who are coming to preform in LA and Anaheim this weekend! I assisted by running back and forth to the news van to feed in the live tape so it could air, setting up the shot with the camera guy (Jose, who is so the best!) and promoting NBC's giveaway to the public. We gave out PENCILS, CUPS, HATS and STICKERS..people were superrr excited ;)

They said I wouldn't really fit in because I was so short...I mean...what do you think???

The Best Day of my Life...yet again..

If you know me well...(and my family will attest to this)--I have a little saying. It goes....

"This is the best day of my life."

LOL- I have had a lot of those, and I am truly grateful.

I WAS ON TV TODAY!! I will be posting the link soon...but I went out with NBC reporter Jane Yamamoto. If I could have a reporter best friend, it would be Jane. She is the kindest, most down to earth reporter I have ever met. I went out with her on Weds, February 20th. She did a live shot from Manhattan Beach, where she reported on the weather storm and cold weather we are facing in LA. We are whimps! We were dressed in our gloves, hats and parkas..And it was about 48 degrees. The camera man kept making fun of us because he has East Coast blood. He kept saying he was "sweating" and it was "so hot." Because it was 3 AM and no one was strolling around in the 48 degree cold, they interviewed me and it aired at 4 AM on Today In LA.

Best. Day. Of. My. Life.

I will post the clip where I was interviewed on Today In LA soon :)

New Internship: NBC4 "Today In LA"

EXCITING NEWS!

I am working for NBC4, Today In LA!! I am working the 3 AM shifts....So you're probably thinking, Wow, That sucks. Who could do that? On top of managing 18 units?! This chick is crazy.

Not going to lie, it is kinda rough, BUT I have never been more excited for my alarm to go off at 2 AM. This is my passion. I am willing to do whatever it takes to get to the next level. The reporters, producers, social media team and everyone else who I have met so far have been SO kind to me. This is my dream. I am so blessed to be able to have so many opportunities.  A quote that my grandparents have engrained in me becomes more relevant each day. "The harder you work, the luckier you get." I used to always say--Wow, I am so lucky. Of course, I am lucky. I am fortunate to attend Chapman University, where my professors enable me to grow and learn. I am fortuante to have a supportive family, helping me each step of the way. But I do work hard and constantly make choices to better my future!

Okay, I promise I don't use this blog as an outlet for "sappy annie posts," but I do want to share some of what I have been doing :)

Already, I have been able to go out with reporters and write for NBC4's website. Check out both of my article below!

Newt Gingrich, Ideas to make the GOP more relevant

One of the most amazing & incredible opportunities came about through the Chapman University Republicans club.

I take you behind the scenes of an exclusive interview with Speaker Newt Gingrich, at the Nixon library in Yorba Linda! He talks about California's political future and how to restore hope for the Republican Party. He also talks about his next bestseller, Victory at Yorktown.

Being secretary of the Chapman University Republican Club has been such an amazing experience so far...and I am looking forward on covering other events in the Orange community.

I also met Colonel Jack Brennan, who gives advice on how the Republican Party can be restored.

Overall, great experience. Really solidified my passions for reporting and honored to have had the opportunity!

Check out the story here!

I mean...i'm not the next Erin Andrews...but a girl can like football too.

C-C-C-C-check it...

I take you behind the scenes of a fundraiser where the money raised was donated to neighborhood hit the hardest by Hurricane Sandy.

FOX reporter, Jaime Maggio co-hosted a fundraiser to benefit the Long Island-based victims of Hurricane Sandy. People in LA gather for a good cause and for the great items at the auction. There were game signed and game-worn sports items, tickets to the X-Factor, Lakers, DVDs and great swag!

Check out the video, featuring Jaime Maggio, Tom Arnold, NFL anchor Danyelle Sargent!

Take the Pledge

Today is No Text on Board Pledge Day. Take the pledge to never text and drive now at:

I was very active in raising awareness at my high school on the dangers of texting while driving. The video I made depicts a real life situation and hits home for many in the Beverly Hills Community, because it is a sergeant's daughter who is the innocent victim of a texting while driving accident.
You should really think twice....because no text is worth someone's life.
